Come out for GVA's first volunteer event of 2012 as we clean-up our adopted beach at the South Mission Beach Park near the Jetty and lifeguard tower. We provide volunteer sign-in sheets, grabbers, gloves, trash bags, water, and wipes. Be sure to wear sunscreen and we recommend closed-toe shoes or boots. Bring cash/check for Laser Tag ($14) if you would like to buy tickets from one of the GVA Stewards (no official event planned until Laser Tag on 2/18/12, so this may be your last opportunity!). After the clean-up GVA will start a bonfire in the fire-rings next to the jetty and roast s'mores (and celebrate GVA Beach Babes Linda Lee and Lora's birthdays!). Darkness in June Gothnic Celebration with DVD Swapmeet & Baked Delights Sale It has become a Gothic Volunteer Alliance tradition to host a Gothnic each June to bring together our community in celebration of our subculture, our friendships and our unity as we stand together as an example of commitment in community action . This year we are asking all GVA members and friends/family to sort through their DVD collections and donate any that no longer hold a place in your heart or psyche and would be enjoyed by another. These donated movies will be available for sale at the Gothnic for a minimal fee to help raise funds for GVA and our quest for non-profit status. We are also asking for your donation of baked items to add to the Baked Delights Sale. Please bring a dozen cookies or six cupcakes or whatever your favorite sweet deliciousness is as it is to surely be someone else's as well. If you do not bake please bring purchased goodies or have someone kitchen creative assist you with your donation. Come join GVA as we clean-up our adopted beach at the South Mission Beach Park near the Jetty and lifeguard tower. We provide ILACS volunteer sign-in sheets, grabbers, gloves, trash bags, water, and wipes. Be sure to wear sunscreen and closed-toe shoes or boots are recommended. After the clean-up GVA will start a bonfire in the fire-rings next to the jetty and roast s'mores. GVA will provide mashmallows and graham crackers.
