Hailing From The Rough Port City of Long Beach Ca. Ravens Moreland was conceived by Bruce "Raven" Moreland, Raven co-founded at age 17 along with brother (The late Marc Moreland) Eighties experimental art band "Wall Of Voodoo". Raven once sat in on bass for "Lords of The New Church" ,and played for a year with L.A. Gender Bending Goth/Art/Industrial Group "Nervous Gender" He also co-wrote with Johnette Napolitano the song "Sky is a Poisonous Garden" on Concrete Blond's "Bloodletting" Record. Raven who sold his soul to the devil sometime in the 1990's also stayed underground so-to-speak through most of that time period, also visiting a few mental institutions and a jail or two. With plenty o f time to write music and Lyrics, he decided to unleash this new sound upon a society being sucked artless by faux punk ,Hip Hop and Emo "soul mosquito" bands. RIP ARIELLE AND CHAUNCY - 5/16/2008 Two of our street team members passed away this morning in a head on collision on the 5 freeway with a driver going the wrong way on the freeway. They were on their way home from flyering Perversion. Two other street team members Kid and Jeremy are in critical but stable condition at County USC medical center in downtown LA. We will be having a memorial service and wake at Xile next week and will be taking donations for the affected families. We will post more info when it becomes available. Memorial and Wake - 5/21/08 Xile will be free all night so those who wish to attend their memorial and wake may due so regardless of financial means. We will be holding a moment of silence at midnight in honor of our beloved friends and street team members followed by a wake in their honor and memory. Along with a few words for their passing, may the angels smile upon you now our friends because you will be sorely missed. There will be a group lunch after at Soup Plantation. We will provide as many Picker-Sticks and Gloves as we can, as well as bottled water. Cleanup: 12 to 2pm, Group Photo, Lunch @ Soup Plantation. Directions: Take Interstate 5 to Sea World Drive. Follow the signs to West Mission Bay Drive. Turn left on Mission Blvd. At the south end of Mission Blvd. turn right into the parking lot. Public Transit: Call San Diego Transit at (619) 233-3004 for buses that serve this beach. Parking: Extensive free public parking is available at the south end of this beach.This lot fills very quickly on busy summer days and traffic can be heavy at times.
